Job Title: Senior Community Fundraiser

Organisation: South East Cancer Help Centre

Salary: £34,000 – £37,000 plus performance bonus of up to £2k per annum

Contract: Permanent, Full time or part-time (min 3 days per week)

Location: Purley, Croydon

Closing date: Wednesday 13th December

The South East Cancer Help Centre, based in central Purley, is a highly regarded cancer support charity which has been operating for 40 years with modern offices, free parking, and excellent public transport access. Anyone with or affected by cancer can join and receive ongoing counselling, therapies and a range of arts, crafts and health activities. The charity is looking for an experienced community fundraiser, someone who can act as the Centre’s main contact for community fundraising and develop new and existing fundraising relationships in the community in order to increase income. This will include raising funds from individuals, businesses, events and community organisations such as schools, rotary and golf clubs by growing positive relationships, including having regular meetings and telephone conversations.

This is a small fundraising team and a further key element of your role will be to supervise, support and motivate the team. You also will need to be comfortable working independently and be able to manage your own work load and set priorities.

You will need a range of office skills, including a good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher together with social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) skills.

The successful candidate will ideally have worked in the charity sector and must have good communication and customer service skills, together with relevant current experience as a fundraiser.

Reporting to the Executive, this position is a full-time role for 37.5 hrs per week or part-time and flexible working office days and hours will be considered. Occasionally some work outside normal office hours may be required. Candidates interested in working part-time should apply.
