Herts Mind Network, (HMN) is a rapidly growing charity providing an essential and diverse range of mental health support across Hertfordshire. We have 7 Wellbeing Centres across the County and services include Crisis intervention, Complex needs and Community outreach, Peer and group support, Wellbeing and Counselling, Training and Education: for adults, young people and children in Hertfordshire.

Salary: £24,500 – £25,500 per annum (Pro rata)
Hours: 20 hours per week
Contract: 9-12 months FTC (Maternity Cover)
Working base: Negotiable – But travel across Hertfordshire is required for this post
Reports to: Service Manager – Peer Support, Wellbeing and Volunteering

About the Service
A dynamic and innovative provider, Herts Mind Network recognises the value volunteers bring to HMN. Our volunteer service continues to grow and our volunteers help support our clients in so many ways. We have around 18-20 volunteer roles available within HMN and have over 100 volunteers. Our volunteers support clients across all of Herts Mind Network’s 7 Wellbeing Centres in Hertfordshire.

Purpose of Post
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and confident individual with excellent communication skills to support the volunteering service within HMN.

This post is for Maternity cover and the successful candidate will work closely with our other part time senior volunteer co-ordinator. The post holder will help to recruit, train and support volunteers in a variety of roles across the organisation. The post will offer the opportunity to make a real contribution to the development of our volunteer service and volunteer opportunities within HMN.

The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Complex Needs Housing Service are:

* Volunteer recruitment and interviews

* Volunteer training and support

* Volunteer Management

* Partnership working

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the value and role volunteers provide to services and experience of developing, training and managing volunteers.

We offer:

* Annual leave entitlement of 25 days per year pro rata, rising in increments to a max. of 29 days after 5 years employment (plus 8 days Bank Holidays)

* An additional day of leave each year for your birthday following completion of probation period.

* Ongoing training relevant to your role.

* An Employee Assistance Programme.

* Health cover (after 6 months employment) – compensation payment for Optical, Dental, Chiropody and Therapy Treatments.

Being able to drive and having access to your own vehicle is essential for this role.
