Background

Every three minutes someone in the UK develops dementia; a progressive and complex condition that can be devastating for the whole family. One in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime – either by caring for someone with the condition, developing it ourselves, or both.

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nursing charity that is there for the whole family. Our specialist nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free, expert advice, support and understanding to help families care for their loved one. Every day, Admiral Nurses help families up and down the country to have the best life possible for as long as possible.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced senior Corporate Partnerships Manager to lead on an exciting new, multi-million pound partnership at Dementia UK. This is a unique opportunity to work in house with the Partner’s CSR team and drive a sector-leading partnership.

Over the past few years, Dementia UK’s Fundraising and Engagement department has experienced substantial growth, forging strategic partnerships with several major national companies across a range of sectors. We have recently secured a charity of the year partnership with a leading business, in the financial sector, that will be game-changing for the charity.

As a pivotal member of the Corporate Partnerships team, you will plan deliver and drive this transformational partnership until December 2025, with an aim of surpassing its £2 million income target. Effectively embedding yourself within the business and maintaining high employee engagement will be pivotal to the partnership’s success.

You will position yourself as the face of Dementia UK and the partnership both internally and externally. Collaborating closely with the partner’s Corporate Social Responsibility colleagues, you will cultivate strong relationships and craft compelling narratives to showcase the partnership and its impact. You will be responsible for keeping the partnership fresh, motivating employees across the partnership to encourage repeat support. Amongst other strategic projects, you will lead on the implementation of Dementia at Work program supporting the partner to access expert nursing support for employees as well as awareness and education sessions for the wider business.

The ideal candidate will have previously managed multi-year, strategic and high value (6 and 7 figure) partnerships. It is also desirable, but not essential, to have experience of working with a partner in the financial sector or as an in-house fundraiser within a partner’s CSR team. You will possess a proven track record of generating income and engagement through a range of activities including employee fundraising, sponsorship, commercial projects, volunteering and events. You will be an exceptional relationship manager and networker, adept at influencing senior leadership and key employee resource groups.

If you are passionate about building sector-leading strategic partnerships, we want to hear from you!

Our culture

In addition to a competitive salary and a generous benefits package, we truly value our people. It’s important for us to create a working environment that looks after our workforce to achieve their full potential. You will become part of a diverse and dedicated team who are supported to use and develop their skills. We recognise and value the key role you will play in delivering our strategic plans for the benefit of those living with dementia.

Our staff have a voice. Representatives from different roles and levels across the organisation positively contribute and lead on our working groups around health and wellbeing, menopause, and equality, diversity and inclusion.

Dementia UK is proud to welcome everyone, we aim for a truly inclusive culture with talented, diverse teams that represent a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. We celebrate difference and individuality and encourage everyone to join us and be their whole selves always.

The successful candidate will ideally start Monday 5th February subject to work authorisation and reference checks.

*Please note that any decision on flexible working is based on business needs
