Position: Events ManagerContract Type: Temporary 3 monthsLocation: KentPay: Hourly pay equivalent to annual salary of £34,500 FTEFull time: 9am-5pm Monday to FridayHybrid working, with 2 days per week in the office. Free parking on site, nearest train station is 20 min walk.

Charity People are working with a charity dedicated to providing care and support to those facing life-limiting conditions. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Events Manager to join their team and drive forward their events calendar with creativity and enthusiasm.

Purpose of Role:As the Events Manager, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of the events calendar, ensuring all aspects of event operations are carried out to the highest standards. You will lead a team of Senior Events Executives and volunteers, providing guidance and support to deliver successful events that engage our supporters and raise vital funds for the charity.

Key Responsibilities:

Events Management:

  • Deliver key events throughout the year, including their signature mass participation events.
  • Oversee all aspects of event delivery from pre-planning to post-event evaluation.
  • Develop comprehensive marketing plans to drive participant numbers.
  • Collaborate with the wider Fundraising Team to maximize engagement opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with third-party event organizers and suppliers.
  • Lead and motivate teams to achieve financial and non-financial objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and guidelines.
  • Monitor and manage the team’s income and expenditure budget.
  • Take proactive action to reduce financial deficits and achieve income targets.

General Responsibilities:

  • Provide information and advice on events to other members of the Income Generation team.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures, including Health and Safety.
  • Maintain high levels of customer care for event participants.
  • Undertake any other duties as required to achieve income objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and secure records in line with GDPR regulations.
  • Ensure data integrity in the fundraising database (NXT Raiser Edge).

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in events management, including budgeting and marketing.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Knowledge of fundraising regulations and best practices.
  • Flexible and willing to work weekends and evenings as required.
