Salary: 4.2 £36,032.50 – £37,555 pro-rata per annum

(Please note, successful candidates are usually appointed at the bottom of the band)

Hours: 37.5 hours a week

Contract: Permanent

About the Role

This important role lead on our organisational approach to individual giving, legacies, campaigns, and community fundraising. The role plays an important part in raising vital unrestricted income and connecting us with our loyal supporters. You will work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Development and the Fundraising Manager (Corporate Partnerships) to ensure the smooth running of the function and delivery against challenging targets.

With excellent relationship management and communication skills, and a proven ability of leadership, to deliver first class relationship management, you will have the confidence to communicate with and influence stakeholders at all levels, including our individual donors, local services, volunteers and local groups. You are collaborative, creative and solution-focused with the ability to drive forward an unrestricted fundraising strategy that both connects us with our local roots and deliver campaigns and projects that have national reach and drive income.

With a knowledge and an understanding of individual giving and ideally some experience of legacy and community fundraising and campaigns to drive individual giving. Working closely with our Communications Team, you will bring a renewed creativity to our fundraising. You’ll also have knowledge of the Charities Act 2016 and Code of Fundraising Practice and recognised standards. This is a senior role providing support across the Income Generation Team.

About You

You will join us with experience of:

· Managing and generating funds from Individual Giving to meet or exceed the annual income budget and optimise donations

· Advise on creative and locally driven fundraising activities

Manage, grow and develop the legacy strategy to ensure donors are kept informed about legacy giving and maintain an accurate pipeline of legators.

· Protect and enhance Solace’s reputation through the co-development of an ethical giving strategy and policy.

· Writing high quality external communications documents, including monthly update emails/ newsletters to supporters, new business proposals and other marketing and promotional materials as required

· Identify potential new sources of funding and secure potential sponsors

· Ensure that all approaches contacts & activities are tracked through effective use of the CRM system and as appropriate tracking spreadsheet.

· Provide regular updates of income versus targets and manage IG annual budgets

· Input high levels of media and digital literacy developing innovative campaigns alongside the communications team

· Contribute to the work of the Business Development department and work in partnership with other teams especially Operations, Therapy Services, Communication and Public Affairs.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

· Demonstrable success within charity sector Individual Giving. Legacy giving, community fundraising, events commercial sector relationship management/sales roles, or social responsibility roles involving management of external partnerships, events, community stakeholders, volunteers and supporters is also desirable.

· Demonstrable success of securing sustainable income through new business development, researching and approaching new prospects, following up on leads, and securing income against targets.

· Experience of working in cross-departmental teams or structures to deliver projects

· Project delivery and management experience required

· Excellent organisational skills.

· Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Self-starter with positive team working ethic

· Strong presentation and negotiation skills with a creative and entrepreneurial outlook.

· Excellent interpersonal communications skills, including tact and assertiveness, and the ability to communicate at all levels in a complex environment.

· Ability to work with senior contacts and co-ordinate the activities of staff and contributors at all levels both internally and externally

· Able to tackle challenges constructively and find creative ways forward.

· Attention to detail and the ability to ensure all outputs are of the highest quality

· Account management experience.

· Proficient in MS Office, use of SharePoint and Salesforce CRM.
