About Emmaus

Emmaus is a secular organisation supporting homeless and socially excluded people by providing a home for as it is needed, meaningful work in a social enterprise and a sense of belonging and community. There are currently 30 Emmaus communities in the UK stretching from Glasgow to Dover and Norfolk to South Wales, collectively supporting more than 850 people. There are also 3 Emmaus groups working towards the development of services in their areas. We understand that a home is more than just a roof over your head; it’s somewhere to belong, where you feel part of a community, and that’s what Emmaus offers.

About the role

Our Policy, External Affairs and Campaigns Manager will work with the Director of Fundraising and Influence to develop our work as ‘activists for change’.

This is an exciting new role at Emmaus UK and the post holder will lead work on policy positions, campaigning, and influencing relationships with decision-makers and thought-leaders.

This role will be centred around coalitions and collaboration with federation members, the wider Emmaus movement and other likeminded organisations.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with experience of leading and delivering successful campaigns and influencing policy and public opinion

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, be able to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, and have a commitment to co-production with service beneficiaries.

What we offer:

  • £44,516 to £48,384 (FTE)
  • 0.8FTE/1.0 – open to flexible working options
  • Contract: Initially a fixed term contract until December 2025
