The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) invests in clean energy markets in low- and middle-income countries to generate energy access, improve lives and economic opportunities, build sustainable markets, and combat climate change. REEEP is a Quasi-International Organisation under Austrian law operating in a growing international environment that is rapidly expanding in influence and impact. REEEP values innovation, cooperation and commitment and has a young and results-oriented team of approximately 26 staff at its International Secretariat in Vienna, Austria working hand-in-hand with partners based in our countries of implementation.

About the Role

As part of the REEEP International Secretariat, reporting to the Department Lead you will support all financial matters both externally and internally across all functions of our organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

The position has the following tasks and responsibilities within REEEP:

  • Day to day accounting
  • Processing of (supplier) invoices as well as invoices in regards of projects
  • Processing of bank statements, payments, and other banking and cash related tasks
  • Acting as the administrator for our timesheet system in BMD
  • Supporting the preparation of reconciliations, the annual closing as well as the annual audit
  • Assisting with reporting (monthly, quarterly, annually) for internal and donor facing purposes, as well as analysis and controlling tasks
  • Supporting the further improvement of financial procedures
  • General support in financial and administrative matters for the organization

About the Profile

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience of finance (Austrian GAAP) and cost accounting
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or similar
  • Formal certification as “Accountant” and/or further certification is mandatory
  • Very good command of German and English (verbal/written)
  • Responsible, self-motivated, enthusiastic, accurate, friendly, well organized and willing to improve
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel
  • Pro-active, service-oriented team player and problem solver with solid interpersonal, communication and time management skills

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of BMD NTCS is (Admin functions)
  • Experience in general financial management (planning, budgeting, controlling, reporting) is an asset but not a must. This is a growth perspective for the successful candidate

About the Package

For this 40h/week full time all-in position, REEEP offers a minimum monthly salary of EUR 3.000 (gross, paid 14 times per year, subject to Austrian social security contributions, currently free of income tax due to REEEP’s special status as a “Quasi-International Organisation”). It further includes five weeks paid leave as well as an average of 14 Austrian and UN holidays per annum. Several other fringe benefits for employees are included in the package

The envisaged starting date is as soon as possible.

The REEEP offices are located in the Vienna International Centre (“UNO City”) in Vienna, Austria. REEEP is not in the position to cover relocation costs or any other travel costs incurred, e.g. for job interviews.
