Are you an experienced fundraiser, with a strong background in Trusts and Foundations? Our client are a friendly, supportive and ambitious charity, supporting a world renowned hospital, looking for a part time manager to join their small team.

Our client is a vital partner to the UKs leading specialist orthopaedic hospital. Since its inception in 1997, the Charity has received and administered millions of pounds worth of donations, which have funded numerous essential projects around the hospital. Our clients mission is to strengthen and support the people, research and infrastructure that make the hospital to which it is associated, one of the worlds best orthopaedic hospitals.

The Role
The Trusts and Foundations Manager will be responsible for maximising income from grant-making trusts by writing compelling applications and developing impactful partnerships with funders. You will enjoy research and be an excellent, meticulous writer with creative flair.
You will be part of the fundraising team and report to the Head of Fundraising. You will develop a grants strategy and implement annual action plans which ensure work is focussed and income targets achieved. You will support the Head of Fundraising to achieve the Charitys strategic objectives relating to further developing income levels from grant-making trusts and demonstrating impact of the Charitys work.

The Candidate
This role would suit someone looking for an opportunity to build upon their experience of bid writing and donor management. You would be joining the Charity at an exciting time as it shapes a new three year strategy.

You will come to our client with:

Degree or equivalent level of qualification
Significant experience in raising funds from grant-making trusts including securing gifts at the five and six figure level
Experience of raising funds for both capital and revenue projects in the healthcare/ medical arena
An ability to devise effective cultivation and solicitation strategies and to track a portfolio of grant-making trusts
Experience of using research techniques particularly to acquire information about existing and prospective funders. Excellent prospect research and profile creation
An ability to develop good working relationships with a range of different stakeholders both internally and externally
Excellent written and oral communication skills (including the ability to understand and communicate complex medical projects to non-academic supporters)
Ability to translate complex and technical information in a compelling way that can be easily understood
Well organised and excellent attention to detail
Ability to assimilate and analyse written and financial information quickly and accurately
Ability to demonstrate highest level of commitment to donor care
Advanced knowledge of a CRM system e.g. Raisers Edge, ThankQ/strong computer literacy


The Terms

This role is being offered on a part time and flexible basis. It is expected to require circa 21 hours per week (which can be worked across a pattern to suit) with a salary of up to £40K FTE and a strong benefits package available for the right candidate. Joining a friendly and highly collaborative team, this role would require the candidate to be office based at least once a week, ideally in the Stanmore office.
