Nadia's Initiative, e.V.

Nadia’s Initiative is committed to rebuilding communities in crisis areas and advocating for survivors of sexual violence worldwide. The initiative’s work currently focuses on rebuilding the Yazidi area of ​​Sinjar, Iraq, where Nadia grew up. When ISIS launched its genocidal attack, it not only killed and kidnapped the Yazidis but also destroyed their homes to ensure they could never return.

These are the goals of Nadia’s Initiative: We want to promote education, ensure healthcare, create livelihoods, restore WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) and culture, and empower women in the region. To achieve this, we work with local communities and local and international organizations. Together, we design, support, and implement projects. All Nadia’s Initiative programs are community-oriented, focused on survivors, and geared toward long-term peacekeeping. The initiative calls on governments and international organizations to support the reconstruction of Sinjar, achieve justice for the Yazidis, improve security in the region, and support survivors of sexual violence worldwide.
