Am 08. Juni findet die „Global Goals Konferenz“ an der Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien statt.
Can the great transformation succeed?
In 2015, the 193 member states of the UN committed themselves to 17 goals for a sustainable future. In order to achieve these goals by 2030, major changes towards a sustainable transformation are required - and everyone involved should be aware of this. The main aim of the conference is therefore to discuss some of these goals with relevant stakeholders and experts from politics, NGOs, business and science in order to jointly identify opportunities, challenges and risks.
In four different workshops, participants will have the opportunity to discuss the following topics in an interactive exchange with experts. Exciting NGOs are also represented here:
- SDGs in a business context: respACT, Institute for Managing Sustainability WU, etc.
- Education & inequalities: Teach for Austria, PROSA - Project School for All, etc.
- Sustainable Cities & Consumption: Thomas Hruschka (Öko Business Wien, MA 22), etc.
- From global goals to bold local implementation. Scenarios for a sustainable Austria.
Following the workshops, Dr. Christoph Müller (Austrian Institute for Sustainable Development) will give the keynote speech entitled "The SDGs - Austria's (sustainable) egg of Columbus?".
This will be followed by a panel discussion with interesting guests such as Norbert Feldhofer from the Federal Chancellery and Anne Erwandt (Ökobüro).
