Our contribution to climate protection
We commissioned ClimatePartner to help us calculate our CO2 emissions and finance a climate protection project. After the calculation, we received a certification and our own ID tracking page from ClimatePartner. This allows us to create transparency about the amount of emissions calculated and the reduction measures as well as the climate protection projects financed.

Our financial climate contribution
Now the time has come... we have calculated our CO2 footprint! This took a bit of time and research and we had to answer a lot of questions. Of course, we looked at our centerpiece, our job platform. How many page views did we have last year? Which web host do we use?
Our employees were also scrutinized. How often were they in the office? How did they get to the office? What do we consume in the office? Have there been any business trips? Many questions that we answered conscientiously. And the result is more than worth seeing: we only produced 3,870 kg of CO2 in 2023.(Here is an overview of how much Austria consumes on average in terms of emissions).
Even though we are proud of our result, we will take the figures as an opportunity to consider where we can make further savings. Because you can always do something for the climate 🙂
Certificate and label
We now have our own certification and a (public) ID tracking page for our calculation. To see more details about our calculation and our climate contribution, scan the QR code or follow the link.

Our climate protection project
Despite our low CO2 footprint, we want to go one step further. We have decided to offset our emissions and invest in a climate protection project. In collaboration with ClimatePartner, we are supporting a project based on renewable energy sources such as wind and solar. After careful consideration, we have chosen a climate protection project that promotes a sustainable and secure energy supply in various regions of Africa.
Project at a glance
The climate protection project we have chosen is called EmPOWERing 2030 and supports several solar and wind power plants in Africa.
Here is an overview of the project:
- Solar energy in Ambatolampy, Madagascar (project number: #1405)
- Solar energy in Omaheke, Namibia (project number: #1404)
- Solar energy in Aswan, Egypt (project number: #1488)
- Wind energy in Northern Cape, South Africa (project number: #1515)
- Wind energy in Ombepo, Namibia (project number: #1574)
In total, this project contributes to saving around 446,770 tons of CO2 emissions per year. If you would like to read the details, you can continue reading here.
Our vision for a just energy transition in Africa
Africa is facing multiple challenges and the transition to renewable energy is crucial for sustainable development. Our commitment aims to address the social, economic, health and environmental challenges. By promoting renewable energy, we want to:
- Mitigating the effects of climate change
- Giving all people access to clean and affordable energy
Contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Our climate protection project also actively contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals:
