A perfect early summer weekend awaited us on the weekend of the Südwind Street Festival 2022.
Sun, a light breeze and the rustling of the old trees in the courtyard of the old AKH on the campus of the University of Vienna provided the perfect backdrop for the event.
Our stand couldn't be in a better position.
A few meters behind us was the back of the stage, where a wide variety of bands were playing. The whole day we swayed in our tent to the sounds that were carried over to us. The mood around us matched the weather and the music. Everyone was visibly relaxed.
We were in the best of neighborhoods with our stand.
Right next to us was the stand of Fight the Fever, an organization that helps people protect themselves from malaria. Next to it was the stand of SOS Balkanroute, which campaigns for a dignified life for refugees in south-eastern Europe.
For the many children there were various games, face painting and even a stand where they could do handicrafts with wood.
There were exciting presentations and workshops on the themed stage throughout both days
The tempting smells of the food stalls were constantly in our nostrils.
The small food stalls were filled with aromas from all over the world. From South America to Africa, everything was there. The food was served in the best of moods, to the rhythm of the respective stall music. We tried our best to taste our way through the stalls, but (unfortunately) didn't manage to do so in the two days.
In addition to all the nice things, we have of course also been busy providing information about our own work
Once again, we have realized how valuable our work is and what we have achieved since we started in 2011. More than once we have heard from visitors that they have found their current job with us. Interested parties of all ages visited us and had the functions of our platform explained to them.
The question of whether there are real jobs in the NGO sector came up again and again. This question always makes us realize how important our work is, especially in the information sector. Many people still think of NGO work as voluntary work. The fact that an NGO functions in a similar way to a company and therefore has paid positions to fill in all areas surprises and delights many people time and again. It was therefore all the nicer to see the enthusiasm that this new job option generates in many people.
Many visitors who regularly use our platform were not yet familiar with the job alert function.
Have you already set up a job alert?
First you create a profile on NGOjobs.eu. You can then create a personalized job alert in your user profile.
You will then receive all job offers relevant to you regularly by e-mail.
We had a wonderful weekend with you and were very happy about your visits and the great conversations.
We are already looking forward to the next Südwind street festival!
