A new star in the non-profit sky! MAKU help, the new association from Graz, offers a very special service: free management consultancy for NGOs. Cool stuff, we thought, and wanted to find out more. We asked MAKU help why they do what they do.
You offer advice for start-ups and further development for NGOs - free of charge! That's great, but why are you doing it?
We want to raise the profile of volunteering and support associations in their work so that even more people get involved. This is how we promote solidarity in society.
And for clubs and non-profit organizations, is your accompaniment really free?
The service is completely free of charge for associations and non-profit organizations. We therefore only accept organizations that are active in the social sector.
Assuming an NGO would like to make use of your service, how does that work in practice? Do they have to come to you in Graz?
The first step is to contact us via our website www.maku.help. We then have an initial meeting to decide together which help the association will benefit from the most. At the moment we are concentrating on associations with headquarters in Graz.
What visions do you have for the future of MAKU help? What do you wish for?
Graz has a great ecosystem that promotes the development of start-ups. We would like to see a similar system in the volunteer scene. The first step is to make volunteering more visible. To this end, we have launched a series of events at which individual associations can present their ideas to an audience from November onwards in order to find further support.
Can people work with you? Do you offer internships or are you looking for volunteers?
Momentan suchen wir Freiwillige. Die möglichen Arbeiten reichen von Marketing bis Event-Organisation und Durchführung. Die genauen Arbeiten machen wir uns aber stets im Erstgespräch genau aus.
